Amazon attribution for TikTok, beyond clicks
Most TikTok-driven Amazon sales never come through a tracked link. Here’s how to measure them anyway.

Why link-based attribution undercounts
Amazon Attribution and tagged links only count shoppers who click a link and buy. Most TikTok viewers don’t click: they open the Amazon app later and search the brand or product. Those sales show up as “organic” on Amazon.
Measuring the uncounted sales
Instead of tracking clicks, estimate what Amazon would have sold without TikTok and compare it with what actually sold. Selario’s Ripple does this per product:
- Finds the TikTok launch for the product.
- Projects Amazon units from the pre-launch relationship with your products TikTok doesn’t sell.
- Cross-checks with a model tying weekly Amazon units to TikTok units in the same and previous 3 weeks, with other channels as controls.
- Combines both into one lift with an 80% range, leaving out stock-out and event weeks.
Early signal: branded search
Branded clicks in Amazon’s Search Query Performance data often rise before sales. Ripple shows this as “Search lift”.

Frequently asked questions
Does Amazon Attribution work with TikTok?
It can track clicks on tagged links in your bio or ads, but it misses shoppers who see a video and later search on Amazon.
How accurate is the halo estimate?
It’s an estimate with an 80% range. When data is thin or methods disagree, the range widens or the verdict is Not enough data.
